Kira Palmer
Senior Pre-Development Associate
Kira joined The Port as a Senior Pre-Development Associate in March 2024. Her primary responsibilities include pre-development due diligence, financial underwriting, and project management for strategic dispositions, acquisitions, and developments for multi-family and commercial properties. She also manages assistance requests, stabilizations, environmental remediations, and external stakeholder relationships.
Before joining The Port, Kira worked at both the City of Cincinnati’s Department of City Planning and Department of Community and Economic Development. In her roles she completed neighborhood-level housing studies, led projects through entitlement reviews and approvals, administered programs for affordable housing gap financing, underwrote real estate projects for City incentives, and disposed of vacant properties for redevelopment. Kira was also a member of the City’s team for the 2022 Bloomberg Innovation Training Program learning to adopt design-based innovation techniques to solve pressing issues and deliver long-term impact.
Kira holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychological Science with high honors, graduating summa cum laude from Colgate University.
Kira Palmer is passionate about cooking, baking, hiking, and staying active through exercise. In her spare time, she also enjoys learning Italian, continuously expanding her skills and interests.
Kira is a graduate of ULI Cincinnati’s Real Estate Accelerator Lab (REAL) 4.0 and has earned the Housing Development Finance Professional (HDFP) certification from Grow America, strengthening her expertise in real estate and housing development.
