UCI Supports New Crossroads Recovery Facility with New Markets Tax Credit Financing

Uptown Consortium, Inc. (UCI), a managed entity of The Port, is supporting the expansion of critical addiction recovery and mental health services with a $10 million federal New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) allocation to The Crossroads Center. This NMTC financing will help fund the construction of a new 29,364 square-foot facility on Reading Road, increasing capacity by 20% and serving over 1,200 individuals annually. The $18.3 million project, developed by Model Group, is expected to create 200 construction jobs and 16 full-time positions, in addition to retaining the center’s existing 60 jobs. Once completed, the facility will offer both inpatient and outpatient treatment, ensuring expanded access to vital services for those in need. PNC Bank, the tax credit investor, provided an additional $1 million of federal NMTC allocation to the project.

$200K AC Installation: Enhancing Health & Quality of Life

Mercy Health generously donated $200,000 to install central air conditioning in 22 CARE Homes, improving air quality and reducing health risks in homes that previously lacked AC. This investment strengthens communities, boosts housing stability, and enhances residents’ health with cleaner air and reduced heat-related risks.
