Letter from the President & CEO

Belated holiday greetings and a happy New Year! As I reflect on 2024 and the work we accomplished at The Port, I know that none of our work would be possible without so many of you.

 

We’re excited to get to work with Uptown Consortium, Inc. (UCI) in 2025. You may have heard in mid-December, we announced a merger with UCI to accelerate community and economic development in Uptown’s neighborhoods.

 

This month’s bi-monthly newsletter provides further details on the merger with UCI, celebrates new jobs and marks a Port employee’s long-time commitment to making real estate work, in addition to some of our other work since our last newsletter in October.

From downtown to Uptown, The Port is all around

In mid-December, The Port announced a merger with Uptown Consortium, Inc. (UCI) to accelerate community and economic development in Uptown, the region’s second largest economic engine and the center of research and innovation. The goal of this merger is to leverage the collective strengths and expertise of both organizations to catalyze transformative growth in one of the city’s most dynamic and promising districts. Through this partnership, UCI’s experience will be paired with The Port’s unique tools and capabilities to accelerate revitalization efforts and unlock the full potential of the area.

 

“Uptown Consortium has played a vital role in shaping Uptown, and we are thrilled to assume management of this organization to attract further investment from JobsOhio, the state and the private sector,” said Laura N. Brunner, president and CEO of The Port.

 

The Uptown area of Cincinnati is a collection of five neighborhoods and includes the Cincinnati Innovation District, a strategic effort designed to stimulate private investment, increase housing choices, and attract new jobs and business opportunities.

Book Drive

Our office book drive supporting the Queen City Book Bank was a huge success! Together with our friends from the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, we collected more than 800 books to help increase book access throughout our communities. We appreciate everyone who contributed to this effort and are proud to work with colleagues who are making a real difference this holiday season!

Toys for Tots

We were delighted to support the Toys for Tots initiative by providing one of our properties in Camp Washington rent-free. The warehouse’s central location made it a convenient space for collecting, organizing, and distributing 70,000 toys to 35,000 children in the tri-state area, helping make the process smoother during this important effort to bring joy to children in our community.
