Christopher M. Recht
Vice President & Deputy General Counsel
Chris serves as Vice President & Deputy General Counsel for The Port. Chris previously served as General Counsel for the organization from 2014-2022, and originally joined The Port in 2012 as Associate Counsel. Chris plays a significant leadership role in risk management, legal compliance, and corporate governance for the organization. He also oversees Port contracting and insurance. Additionally, he performs a significant amount of complex transactional work, including negotiating and drafting purchase/sale contracts, leases, and financing agreements relating to commercial, industrial, and residential real estate.
Chris earned his Juris Doctor from Northwestern University, an MBA from UCLA, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Chris is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the Ohio Bar Association, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Cincinnati Minority Counsel Program. Prior to joining The Port, Chris worked as a litigation attorney for a large Cincinnati law practice.
