Port CEO Lands on Three “Power” Lists to Close out 2022
Cincinnati, OH, December 20, 2022 – The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority (The Port) announced today its President and CEO, Laura Brunner, has been named to three prominent lists of trailblazing business leaders. Because of Brunner’s bold decision to launch The Port’s unique CARE Homes program, which will create homeownership opportunities for residents in disinvested areas, Brunner is included among a “who’s who” of national, statewide, and local leaders in the following lists:
“Top 100 People Transforming Business in 2022”
Business Insider’s annual list of 100 leaders in the U.S. across 10 industries who are driving unprecedented change and innovation. (click here for individual profile)
“Ohio 500”
This inaugural list by Ohio Business magazine includes 500 of Ohio’s most powerful and influential leaders.
“Top 10 Women Who Mean Business in Greater Cincinnati”
The Cincinnati Business Courier’s annual list recognizes 10 women who have made a significant impact in the Greater Cincinnati business community in 2022.
“I am humbled and honored to be included in this recognition, but this really isn’t about me,” said Brunner. “This is about every single Port employee who works tirelessly to make our CARE Homes initiative a success by making homeownership a reality for so many who never dreamed that could be possible for them,” she continued.
The Creating Affordable Real Estate (CARE) Homes initiative launched in January 2022 when The Port closed on an acquisition of 194 single-family homes formerly owned by an out-of-town investor. The CARE Homes program is intended to create pathways to homeownership for current rental tenants of these homes and prevent them from facing higher rents or eviction. This is part of The Port’s overall strategy to preserve homeownership opportunities in underserved communities to advance economic equity.
Some of the more notable names joining Brunner on these lists include:
“Top 100 People Transforming Business in 2022” - Melissa Moore, chief scientific officer, Moderna; Taylor Sheridan, creator of the hit television drama “Yellowstone;” Gary Gensler, chair, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); Lizzo, singer and songwriter, LeBron James, National Basketball Association (NBA).
“Ohio 500” - Mike Brown, owner, Cincinnati Bengals; Robert Castellini, CEO, Cincinnati Reds; presidents of the University of Cincinnati, Miami, and Xavier.
“Top 10 Women Who Mean Business in Greater Cincinnati” – Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney, vice mayor of Cincinnati; Jackie Reau, CEO of Game Day; Meghan Cummings, vice president, civic advancement, Greater Cincinnati Foundation.
