Hard-hit by the foreclosure crisis, Evanston is The Port’s first neighborhood of focus and the first neighborhood we began acquiring vacant, blighted single-family homes and rehabbing and selling them in a program named “REACH Evanston.” Having rehabbed or built 30 new homes, The Port has since shifted its focus to the development of affordable housing and revitalization of Evanston's Neighborhood Business Districts.
