The Port Sells Key Development Site to Messer Construction Company
March 13, 2019
CINCINNATI – The Port today announced it will sell about one-third of its development-ready industrial site located at 2250 Seymour Avenue to Messer Construction. In a development partnership with Terrex Development and Construction, Messer will construct a building designed specifically to accommodate the requirements of advanced manufacturing companies – filling a market gap for readily available industrial properties for lease or sale. Messer said it will break ground in summer 2019 on a 73,000-square-foot building that will be ready for occupancy next year. Some building details will remain unfinished, allowing it to be completed to exact tenant specification.
Messer Construction President and CEO Tim Steigerwald said the project represents a $6.5 million investment, and further anchors Messer into the industrial sector of development and construction. The Port’s President and CEO Laura Brunner, said, “This is an exciting day for The Port and our industrial revitalization strategy – to bring new private investment and jobs to Bond Hill, a community we have been working with and investing in since 2012. We know there is unmet demand for urban development-ready sites in our region and we expect this project to attract interest quickly.” The project team also includes BHDP Architecture, Colliers International and Fifth Third Bank. The City of Cincinnati is considering it for property tax abatement.
